Quality Pharmacy Care for Pets
We understand that pets are members of your family. We know that you want them to receive the highest quality vet pharmacy care they can, therefore we will provide them the highest quality medication and care we can.
Some animals can be difficult to treat with traditional medications. We want to make it easy for you. As a compounding pharmacy in Irvine, we will do our best to make their medication in a flavor or dosage form that makes it easy for them to take and effortless for you to administer.
Cats don’t like pills, but they love tuna. Dogs don’t always appreciate the flavor of traditional medicine, but seem to love peanut butter. Birds are grateful for fruit flavored medicine in small, concentrated volumes, rather than larger volumes and flavors of traditional prescriptions.
We realize animals are individuals and want your opinion regarding their likes and dislikes. We know one size doesn’t fit all and that applies to our furry friends as well. We are happy to work with you and your veterinarian to tailor the strength, dosage form and flavor to meet your specific pet drug needs.
When should compounding be considered for pets?
Is your pet therapy failing or their medication is on backorder or discontinued? Does your pet have a medical issue requiring an alternative to traditional medication? Your pet has an allergy or side effect to a commercially available medication? Does your pet have a medical history? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then compounding may be a viable solution for your pet.
Pet medication no longer available?
Frequently, drug manufacturers will discontinue the production of medications and dosage forms due to low demand, and hence a decreased profit for them. However, there is often still a need for these. When a veterinary formulation is not commercially available and there is no human preparation that can be used, our compounding pharmacy can obtain the necessary pharmaceutical-grade chemicals to compound individualized dosage forms to help.
Custom Medication Dosages for Pets
Most pet medications often come in only one dosage or strength. To properly medicate small animals, a reduced dose often must be given. Our compounding pharmacy can provide the exact amount of medication per dose needed to treat smaller animals. Conversely, we can provide larger than commercially available strengths of medications and make them into single doses.
